Vote for us in the ASC Product of the Year Awards 2026
Our Loch Fyne Oysters have been nominated for Product of the Year in the ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) UK Seafood Awards 2026.
The winner of this award is decided entirely by public vote and we'd love your support!
You can see all the nominated products and place your vote here until 7th August 2026
As a thank you, everyone who votes will be entered into the ASC giveaway for the chance to win a Le Creuset cast iron pan, a must-have for every seafood lover.
Loch Fyne Oysters are grown in the cool, clear waters of Loch Fyne on the west coast of Scotland and at Morecambe Bay Oysters.
Founded in 1978 by Johnny Noble and Andy Lane, who initially sold them from a small shack on the main road passing through Cairndow, we have been growing oysters on the shores of Loch Fyne for more than four decades.
We are one of only a small number of UK oyster farmers with our own hatchery and nursery at Morecambe Bay, where we grow the familiar Pacific rock oysters (Crassostrea gigas).
The internationally recognised Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification means our oysters are farmed according to the robust ASC environmental and social standard.
The ASC sustainability label provides proof that our shellfish are grown in accordance with science-based requirements that focus on the environment, local communities, and the people who work on the farms.
Find out more about ASC-certified oyster farming here.
Loch Fyne Oysters feed naturally on plankton and are carefully grown for two to three years on our sandy shores before harvest. Our farms are independently audited to ensure they meet strict ASC requirements for water quality, habitat protection, and other key farming practices.
By choosing ASC-labelled Loch Fyne Oysters, you are helping to protect Scotland’s waters and support coastal communities, whilst driving continuous improvement and positive change in seafood farming.

Each year we retain enough seed oysters for on-growing on our beach sites, with the remainder supplied commercially to our partner growers across the islands and west coast of Scotland.
Once harvested, every oyster is transferred to our depuration facility at Cairndow, where they are purified in filtered natural seawater, graded for quality and rigorously health screened before being hand selected, packed and despatched live to customers.
Our fresh oysters are currently available from the following retailers:
- Loch Fyne Deli, Cairndow, Argyll
- LochFyne.com for U.K. mainland home delivery
- Waitrose, selected stores.
