Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd is based at Cairndow, at the head of Loch Fyne on the West Coast of Scotland.  From this stunning location we have been supplying our customers with Scotland's finest fish and seafood for over 40 years.  From our internationally renowned Oyster Bar Restaurant and through the products we sell globally, we pride ourselves on provenance, quality and sustainability.

We are in the envious position where we can enjoy all the great outdoors has to offer; beautiful beaches, views, walks, wildlife and outdoor sports, as well as not being far from Dunoon, Helensburgh, Dumbarton and Glasgow, to enjoy the benefits of a large town or city. 

Our team at Cairndow fulfill a wide variety of roles from processing staff to our restaurant and retail team, along with administration and sales.  We employ over 120 people and have developed strong links with the local communities. There is flexibility within the work place to move between roles and departments.

Job Description:

We require a highly reliable, enthusiastic and self motivated person to join our AQUACULTURE TEAM to assist in the day to day operation of the Oyster Farm and Depuration Centre. 

The successful applicant will be able to work well within a small, focused team.  Previous aquaculture experience, with transferrable related skills and qualifications preferable, however full training through in-house and external training providers will be provided. 

The role will involve a combination of working outside in all types of weather conditions, as well as inside the site's Oyster Farm and Depuration Centre.

The role involves a variety of responsibilities including:

  • Grading, purification and packing shellfish.
  • Operation of equipment for the processing and packing of shellfish.
  • A range of cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the site.
  • Assisting with the aquaculture site maintenance.

Job Description:

We are looking for custmer focused people, with a friendly, outgoing nature to join our FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM.  You will need to have excellent customer service and communication skills, a cheerful and positive manner, be able to work well as part of a team, plus the ability to work in a busy restaurant environment.  Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is preferred.

Duties will include: taking customer orders, serving food/drink, clearing and resetting tables, cash handling and dealing with customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Chef de Partie to join our busy KITCHEN TEAM, assisting in the smooth running of the kitchen; preparing and cooking dishes from our menu.

The ideal applicant needs to have a strong background in a similar environment, working with fish and seafood.  You must also be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced kitchen, plus have good communications skills and excellent food hygiene standards.  HNC level qualification or experience preferred.
