Restaurant & Oyster Bar
The original Oyster Bar and Farm Shop started in a small shed in the lay-by at the head of Loch Fyne in the early 80’s, then in 1988 moved into the old cow byre at Clachan Farm. The thick stone walls of the original building have seen politicians, celebrities, film stars, royalty and visitors from far and wide pass between them. Inside décor and furnishings have evolved from what was initially an indoor picnic area to a restaurant equipped to equal standards found in cosmopolitan locations.

Our first chef was local cook Morag Keith who retired a few years ago but still lives locally. In 2013 the kitchen was redesigned under the direction of Roy Brett to create a state of the art kitchen. Roy and Head Chef Jamie Nicolson have recruited a team keen to develop the menu using key ingredients that have kept customers coming back year after year.
Menus are drawn up by the kitchen on a daily basis depending on seasonal availability to ensure best use of local produce.
The main menu is served from 12pm to 5pm each day, and features a range of dishes from Loch Fyne Smoked Salmon to Crispy Oysters with Horseradish, Tarbert Crab to Smoked Haddock Chowder.
The Restaurant and Oyster Bar is open all year round with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. For opening hours please click More Info below. Booking is recommended, especially if you are travelling some distance to reach us, as we hate to disappoint.

Alec's Room - available for meetings and private dining, parties and functions. The room holds between 40 and 60 people depending on the layout.
