Farmed fish have a vital part to play in providing sufficient fish for our needs

Given the decline in wild fish stocks against the requirement for large quantities to fish to supply a healthy diet for our population an investment in responsible aquaculture is well founded. How are the mistakes of the past, both in agriculture and aquaculture, to be avoided (over stocking etc.)?  Is the public’s perception of farmed fish too negative?
